Are there COVID POLICIES in place?

COVID 19 Policies and Procedures:

The COVID pandemic is a constantly evolving situation and our protocols around guest/staff safety must be as well.

Guest safety is a priority for Body Luv Fitness LLC and Present Moment Retreat. All guests will be required to follow public health regulations from state and country departments at all times. Closer to the retreat those current guidelines will be sent to all participants and staff.

In addition to following state and country guidelines, participants *may* be required to provide any or all of the following by Body Luv Fitness and/or Present Moment Retreat, depending on the current state of affairs:

  • Proof of vaccination and booster status
  • Negative COVID test between 24-72 hours prior to arrival at Present Moment Retreat on February 17, 2024

Failure to comply with any government COVID safety requirements, Present Moment Retreat protocols, or Body Luv Fitness LLC COVID policies will result in your forfeit of the retreat experience, any costs paid to Body Luv Fitness LLC, and any out-of-pocket expenses.

COVID testing expenses will be at the cost of the retreat participant.

Cancellations due to COVID still fall within the parameters of the general refund policy.

HOW WILL I GET TO/FROM THE AIRPORT TO PRESENT MOMENT?

Transfers to/from Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo International Airport to Present Moment via a professional transport company are included in the price of the retreat *if they fall within the retreat dates of Feb. 17 to Feb. 24, 2024 only. Transfers included with the retreat costs include (1) one-way from ZIH to Present Moment and (1) one-way transfer from Present Moment to ZIH Airport. Anything outside of these transfers or dates will be at your own expense. *MASKS MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE DURATION OF ALL SHUTTLE TRANSFERS*

We suggest arriving at ZIH in the early afternoon of Feb. 17, 2024 if possible. This will allow you plenty of time to get through Customs and make the 45-minute journey to Present Moment in time for our dinner and “Opening Circle” (If arriving at that time isn’t a possibility, not to worry!). The ZIH Airport is super small and quiet, so Customs is very quick 🙂

WHAT ARE THE PRESENT MOMENT AMENITIES?

  • On Site Spa with massage, facials, mani/pedi and more
  • Swimming Pool/Jacuzzi
  • Gift Shop/Boutique
  • Guest Lounge/Library
  • Beach areas with hammocks
  • Free Wi-fi Internet so you can stay connected if need be 😉
  • Beach side restaurant with gourmet, healthy meals

WILL WE BE THE ONLY RETREAT GUESTS AT PRESENT MOMENT?

Yes! Although there are “community” meditation classes that take place on the yoga deck in the mornings and evenings and the restaurant is open to the public, we’ll be the only retreat and all the palapas will be ours.

ARE THERE SAFES IN EACH ROOM?

No, but you are welcome to store any valuables (passports, credit cards, extra cash, etc.) in the safe inside the boutique. Playa Troncones is super quiet and crime/thefts are extremely rare/unheard of.

DO I NEED TO BRING A YOGA MAT?

Yes. The mats that are provided by Present Moment Retreat get a lot of use with their twice daily “community” classes, so it’s recommended that you bring your own. That said, if you don’t want to deal, bring a yoga towel or sarong that you can place on top of the Present Moment mats.

CAN WE SWIM IN THE OCEAN?

No. The beach at Present Moment is long and epic- perfect for walks, horseback riding and wading. Deep-water swimming is not recommended here, as the Pacific Ocean has lots of rip tides and rocks hiding under the surface if you go too far out. That’s what the pool/hot tub is for! We WILL be going on an optional day trip to the perfect swimming beach one day during the week and there are snorkeling excursions available too!

I’M TRAVELING SOLO - CAN I GET A ROOMIE?

Are you looking to book a room at the double room rate but plan on traveling solo, because we can help with that! We are happy to pair you up with another Booty Luv®-er who is also looking for a roommate during the retreat, and likely you will be best friends by the end.

For questions on this please reach out to retreats@bootyluvfitness.com

Money FAQ’s

Cash Expenses

We recommend bringing enough cash (USD or Mexican pesos) to cover gratuities, optional excursions and on-site spa services. $300-$400 USD (equivalent in pesos) should be plenty.

**It is recommended that you use Mexican pesos, as it’s less of a headache, you get a better exchange rate, and the staff prefer gratuity in pesos. That said, US dollars are widely accepted in Mexico, so you are welcome to bring US dollars if that is your preference.**

Do I Need To Bring Cash?

YES, please plan on bringing cash for the following services, which CANNOT be paid with a credit card:

  • Excursions (such as guided hikes, snorkeling, etc.)
  • Buying souvenirs in town or at the local market

  • Gratuities

When And Where Should I Exchange Money?

To save on exchange fees, you can get pesos at your local bank branch prior to leaving the US. Another option is to use the Casas de Cambios (Money Exchange), which can be found at the airport. Present Moment cannot exchange money (only official money exchanges can do this).

Will We Be Going On Any Excursions?

Excursions are optional and can be taken at your leisure at your own expense. Hiking, surfing, turtle release, snorkeling, horseback riding, and kayaking tours are all available through Present Moment. Check out the potential options here: Click Here

Travel FAQ’s

I Notice This Is A "Women’s Retreat"... What Does That Mean?

This is a retreat for ALL women who are ready to take a break from their daily grind.

Where Is The Retreat?

At the heart of charming Troncones Beach, nestled between the lush mountains of the Sierra Madre and the sparkling Mexican Riviera, Present Moment Retreat combines the ambiance of nature’s grandeur with inspiring mind-body work, set in harmony on beautifully-landscaped tropical grounds.

Troncones is located at the juncture of the paved road which runs from Federal Highway 200 to the beach and the rustic oceanfront lane that houses restaurants, outdoor activities outlets, accommodation rentals, and private residences. Located only 20 miles north of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and an easy 45-minute drive to the International airport serviced by a number of International airlines including Alaska Airlines, Continental, American, America West, Frontier Airlines, Mexicana and Aeromexico, Troncones Beach is highly connected, yet still a world apart. Its proximity to Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo affords you a full choice of shopping conveniences and recreational possibilities, all just a short distance from your world-class yoga retreat and resort.

What Is The Closest International Airport to Present Moment Retreat?

Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo International Airport (ZIH). There are daily flights via a number of International airlines including Alaska Airlines, Continental, American, America West, Frontier Airlines, Mexicana, and Aeromexico.

*The easiest travel experience will be to fly NON-STOP from Seattle, LAX, San Diego, or SFO. When booking your flights, AVOID layovers in Mexico City, as the airport is confusing, sprawling, and has frequent flight delays/cancellations.*

What Documents Do I Need To Enter Mexico?

Immigration regulations require that you have a valid passport for travel to Mexico. If you have a US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or European passport you will be granted a tourist visa once you arrive in Mexico and pass through customs. If your passport is from another country, please check for any other visa requirements.

Most tourist visas are issued for 30 or 90 days. However, you can ask the immigration officer to make it for up to 180 days if you plan to stay longer in Mexico. Keep your tourist visa in a safe place, as you will need it upon exiting Mexico. If you lose your tourist visa you need to be at the airport 4 hours before your flight on your departure day and pay a $30 USD fine.

**There is a possibility that more documentation related to COVID will be required for entry and that information will be shared with participants closer to the retreat.

Is It Safe To Visit This Area Of Mexico?

Yes. Local and state law enforcement are closely monitoring and ensuring safety in this area which relies on tourism as the most important sector of the economy. Although areas of Acapulco aren’t recommended for tourists, a helpful comparison may be planning a trip to Big Sur or Lake Tahoe and wondering if violence in Los Angeles is something to be concerned about.

Troncones Beach is a small, very quiet community situated on 3 miles of pristine Pacific beach – a strand of white sand punctuated by occasional rock outcroppings often harboring tidepools teeming with fascinating saltwater life. The charming village is home to a small school, a public library (donated by generous local residents for the education of the village’s children), a church, several dry goods outlets, and a few other small provisioning services for essential items. With a population hovering around a mere 500 permanent residents, the town has magically maintained a pleasant sense of isolation. Intrepid travelers are drawn to Troncones, seeking the unspoiled and barefoot beach vibe that has diminished elsewhere along Mexico’s coast as towns here grow increasingly popular. While removed from the busy resort scene, it still has enough unassuming hotels, tasty local restaurants, and interesting activities to keep visitors comfortable and safe!

What’s The Weather Like?

Troncones boasts an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. During our retreat, the average temperature is generally between 85 and 95 degrees F.

Food FAQ’s

I Have A Special Diet. What Will I Eat?

Present Moment’s healthy cuisine is a delicious Intercontinental Fusion style featuring fresh-caught seafood, vegetarian specialties, regional Latin American dishes, Asian delicacies, and housemade desserts. They also serve a wide variety of mouthwatering smoothies and elixirs, and will gladly create meals for guests with dietary concerns. The Present Moment restaurant has two levels; one is directly on the sand, while the other cantilevers over the beach.

When you register for the retreat, you can list your dietary needs and we look forward to accommodating them deliciously!

Will I Have Problems Because Of The Food And Water?

Hygienic food preparation measures are closely followed by Present Moment staff. Present Moment’s kitchen triple washes and disinfects all fresh produce and they cook with purified water.
