GETTING THERE AND AWAY:
Fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). Try to book your flights to arrive between 12-4 p.m. if possible on March 10. For your return trip on March 17, try to book your flights after 12 p.m.
At the airport, simply get a taxi to Hotel Cinco22 in El Cerro. (roughly $21 USD, 20 minute ride)
After our first night, in Puerto Vallarta, we will board water taxis for the 30-45 minute trip to Yelapa, heading south.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes. Puerto Vallarta and Yelapa are charming and are a wonderful mix of traditional Mexico and tourist comforts.
DO I NEED A PASSPORT?
Yes. Please make sure that they will be valid for OVER 6 MONTHS after your departure date on March 10, 2018. If that’s not the case, you will need to renew your passport, otherwise you won’t be let on the plane.
(And that would be soooooo sad).
SHOULD I BRING CASH OR CREDIT CARDS?
The easiest thing by far is to use pesos. Yelapa is remote, with no banks, ATMs, or even cars. I recommend bringing the equivalent of $400 USD. That will cover shopping, optional massages/acupuncture
appointments, tips, and the occasional cocktail on the beach 🙂
WHERE DO I GET PESOS?
If you want to avoid exchange fees, you can order pesos from your financial institution 3-7 days ahead of time. You can also exchange USD for pesos at the airport, or withdraw pesos from an ATM in Puerto Vallarta
for a fee of about $5. For ease, I recommend getting your pesos ahead of time and not having to worry about it.
DO I NEED A YOGA MAT?
Los Naranjos provides all yoga mats and props so you can travel light.
IS THERE WIFI?
YES, there is limited Wifi in the common area, enough for social media and emails, but not enough to stream videos.
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND ALL THE CLASSES?
You do what you want- it’s your retreat! The classes are included in the price, so you might as well come. But if you would rather sleep, stay on the beach, or hike to a waterfall that day, that’s totally cool! It’s your retreat, do what you like 😉
ARE THE CLASSES SUITABLE FOR ALL LEVELS?
Yes. Both instructors are well-versed in providing modifications for varying levels of fitness/experience. We create a welcoming atmosphere for you to be in your body without judgement.
WILL THERE BE COFFEE PROVIDED EACH DAY?
For the love of all things holy, YES. Coffee/tea and fruit will be provided in the dining room every morning before our first class of the day for those that want it.
WHAT ABOUT DIETARY RESTRICTIONS FOR MEALS?
Prior to the retreat, I will be sending out a questionnaire to collect information from each of you regarding food allergies, injuries, special requests, etc. All the food served will be fresh, healthy, local, and delicious!
CAN I BRUSH MY TEETH WITH THE WATER FROM THE TAP?
NO- use the filtered water provided in the big jugs on property.
WHAT ABOUT BOOKING MASSAGES?
Massages can be booked with Maria once you arrive and will take place on site in the shade of the jungle. $65 USD for 1.5 hours – a combination of deep tissue and acupressure.
